In Two Beautifully Customized Offices
Once you've weathered the processes of doing the research, making the decision to undergo gastric bypass or banding surgery, having your testing and obtaining insurance authorization, your arrival in the clinic should allow you to take a deep breath and put the stress behind you. The waiting room embraces you with warm earth tones and the coziness of a living room. All seating is comfortable and roomy and you will find a warm smile greeting you at the reception desk. While you have a minute in the waiting room, please page through the hand-crafted scrapbook of before and after pictures that my patients have created for me.
The exam rooms are designed for your comfort and privacy. You are greeted by rich vanilla cream coupled with dusty hues of greens and blues, framed by warm honey toned cabinetry and a personal locker for your clothing. The motorized recliner style exam table is draped with a fresh sheet and a comfy pillow. All exam gowns are constructed with soft cotton and are especially roomy. Many of my patients have commented that until they came to our clinic, they had never put on a gown that was too big! The spacious bathroom is appointed with warm tuscan style flooring and is designed with my patients' unique needs in mind.
Your Job is... To Relax
My ultimate goal is for you to be escorted through your pre-operative experience, leaving the planning and stress to me and the clinic staff. You will be directed through the pre-operative day, with the majority of your time spent right in the office. The only other stops are at Alvarado Hospital and at the office of Dr. Hiser, the Internist, each conveniently located next door to the office.

Many patients fly in from great distances to see me, landing at Lindberg Field and staying at one of our many nearby hotels for the duration of their stay in San Diego. These patients find it most convenient to come to the clinic right next to Alvarado Hospital, which is a 10 minute drive from the airport and hotels, some of which provide complimentary shuttle service to the hospital. This clinic provides a warm, friendly home-base for my bariatric surgery practice, and is where all of my patients have their pre-surgery and 1-week follow-up visit.

Patients who come from northern areas such as La Jolla, Del Mar, Rancho Bernardo, Newport, Riverside, Temecula, Palm Springs and Los Angeles find that my La Jolla office location is most accessible to them. It is an easy drive to Scripps Memorial Hospital, and is located a few blocks from beautiful La Jolla Village and the beach. In the office with Dr Stephen Krant, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, my patients have the opportunity to meet him and discuss plastic surgery options post-operatively. I encourage my patients to take advantage of SK Sanctuary, a world-class Tuscan style spa, next door. Treating yourself to a massage, facial or other hair or skin care is a fantastic way to celebrate your new health and reward yourself for a job well done after your bariatric surgery follow-up appointment.
